BW to Color

Image
Original Picture  This project was an extremely interesting adventure.  I had a lot of fun choosing from different color schemes and deciding which ones would best fit the corky colored versions of myself.  I thought this was going to be a tad easier than I thought but with the guidance of Professor Roundtree on her tutorial, I slowly but surely pieced this project together.  I would have to say starting off using Photoshop for the first couple of times, this is one of the more difficult applications that we have used in this course.  But with that being said, I believe with more practice and dedication, the road will become a little bit simpler in the long run.   When looking for different color schemes to use in this project, I decided to choose from making a custom selection of my own, along with a Triad scheme, and I finished my last version as a Square scheme.  I believe the most difficult aspect of this project was properly cropping and highlighting different

TagBrush Assignment

Original Logo TagBrush Logo This project was extremely challenging but at the same time was a lot of fun for me.  I decided to use a variation of different colors to properly represent the logo that I first made in Illustrator and then converted into Photoshop.  I chose to implement the different colors for specific reasoning because my logos not only who I am, they also represent where my ancestors are from.  As you can see in my logo, there are three different ideas all combined into one overall.  There is a shamrock to represent my Irish descent, there is an Italian Horne to show the Italian side of me, and finally in the front of the logo- there is a family sign to show how deeply my family matters to me.   I decided to use this specific color scheme in this project to match the countries that my family loves and resides.  I chose to use the blue part of my logo to represent America, the land of the free and the home of the brave.  The green part of my logo in th

Self Portrait Assignment

For my Self Portrait Project, the project was inspired by a picture that you were supposed to take of yourself and transform it into the application Adobe Illustrator.  From the start of the project, I was deciding what angle was the most appropriate to fit the message that I was attempting to convey in this assignment.  I attempted various different angles from crossing my arms, to serious emotion, even attempting to go after a joking emotion with me laughing in the picture.  Through the assignment directions, the class was encouraged to base our project after a propaganda poster and make our own version out of the specific poster that would give off our own spin.  I looked at various propaganda posters that and I decided to go with an Uncle Sam Army recruiting poster.  The Poster was a picture of Uncle Sam pointing at the eye of the viewer with the message, “I want YOU for the U.S. Army.”  I then chose to take a picture of me in a similar position up against a white wall pointi

Logo Project

This logo represents three things that are extremely important in my life. For this assignment, Professor Roundtree instructed the class to design a logo that symbolizes who we are as an individual. I used a symbol of family to represent my love and passion for my family members. I included a four-leaf clover to represent my family's descent from Ireland. Lastly, I included an Italian Horn to show my Italian heritage. These three symbols are something that I carry myself with every day and remind show my true colors as a human being.     The color scheme that I chose to incorporate for my three logos has an in-depth meaning behind them. I chose the color green to be in one of my logos to represent a color that is in both the Irish and Italian flags. For another logo I chose the colors red, white, and blue which symbolizes the country I was born and raised in and am proud to be a part of. This assignment forced me to dig deep into my life and pick out certain aspects

Gradient Mesh Project

Image
For my gradient mesh project, I was looking for items around my house and I decided to open up my refrigerator and found an apple which lead me to use for this assignment.   The project was to use the gradient mesh tool to recreate your specific item which was converted into the Adobe Illustrator Application.   The first step that I took when starting the project was importing the image of the apple and then I went onto to tracing the outside of the Apple I found.   I then starting using the gradient mesh tool to create the different shades of the piece of fruit as it appeared in the image.   I had trouble at first figuring out the best way to use the gradient mesh tool but by following various tutorials online, I started to get the hang of making my project looking appealing.   Overall, I believe the project was a success as I did my best to compose not only the apple that was shown, but the different shades of colors that go along with it.
